The City of ­­­Lone Jack  is a member of the Regional Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program, a service coordinated by the MARC Solid Waste Management District. 

Residents have year-round access to the safe disposal of unwanted products such as paint, lawn and garden chemicals, automotive fluids, batteries, florescent bulbs and housecleaners.

Business waste is not accepted.  

Residents can access the permanent facilities in Lee’s Summit and Kansas City and also can attend any of the mobile events scheduled April through October.

HHW Collection Facilities

Missouri residents who live in participating communities can take their HHW at no cost to either of the following HHW facilities. Kansas City, Missouri, residents may use the Lee’s Summit facility for a fee. For free service, Kansas City, Missouri, residents are encouraged to use the Kansas City facility or use one of the scheduled collection events.

Please note when appointments are required. ID and proof of residency are required.

Facility accepts:automotive products, antifreeze, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs (Tube and CFL), fertilizers, flammables, fuels, hazardous cleaners, hazardous liquids, household cleaners, lawn and garden products, paint, pesticides, photographic chemicals, pool chemicals, solvents, thinners, used oil
Facility does not accept:explosives, yard waste, commercial waste, pressurized gas cylinders, asbestos, tires, appliances
Hours:Thu. and Fri. 9 a.m.–6 p.m.,
Sat. 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
No appointment required.
Who can bring waste:No charge for residents of Regional HHW Collection Program. Must bring ID with proof of residency. Fees can no longer be accepted at the KC facility or at mobile events from residents of non-participating communities, however they may still access the Lee’s Summit facility for a fee.

Facility does not accept:explosives, yard waste, commercial waste, pressurized gas cylinders, asbestos, tires, appliances, single-use batteries (AA, C cell, 9-volt, button, etc.)
Hours:Facility is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. An appointment is required. There is a 100-pound limit per visit. The service is free for Regional HHW Collection Program members. There is a fee for non-members.
Who can bring waste:No charge for residents of Regional HHW Collection Program. Must bring ID with proof of residency. Non-members may use the service for a fee.
Independence and Kansas City residents may use the Lee’s Summit facility, but will be charged a fee. There is no fee for Independence and Kansas City residents to use the Kansas City facility.
